Made to break....

Not having a landlord stinks sometimes.

Like when we found our kitchen floor covered in water last week.

Craig and I were able to figure out that the water was coming from a pinhole leak in the dishwasher drain hose (dishwashers use a lot of water - at least it seems it when it is all over your floor).  So, easy enough to fix, we'll replace the hose.  Craig is pretty handy around the house and I'm not helpless by any means - we can do it.

So, he goes to home depot, picks up another hose, busts out the tool box - we are ready to go. Turns out we weren't.  The darn hose will not budge - impossible to remove it seems.

Fastforward to today - over a week later.

I spent an hour on the internet this morning trying to find out how to replace this dang thing. I am not new to the internet - I know how navigate it.  Maytag's website sucks. Just an FYI.  Turns out, we can't use a run of the mill dishwasher hose. Nope, we need a special one direct from Maytag because it needs to loop funny. So, ordered that just now.  $25 later....

So, our dishwasher is still out of commission. Not a huge deal, just a pain in the butt. We'll see when the part gets here since there was no shipping choices - you get it when you get it I guess.

So frustrating, but at least we can take a break from trying to fix it, right? :-)

Now off to celebrate our 6 month anniversary - with the completion of unpacking and cleaning out the garage. With any luck, our cars will be in it tonight :-)

Those are opposing ideas....

"No... they're not. I need you to arch your back while keeping it straight."

2 lifepoints if you can name that movie :-)

So I was lucky enough to visit the dentist today, on my day off, for two small fillings. I've been out of the chair for an hour and a half and my mouth both hurts and is numb - hence the title of this post. My teeth/jaw are sore but my cheeks and lips are numb. I really hope everyone I encountered during my errands didn't think I was being mean because of my lack of smile - I literally can not do it. haha.

Craig and I have been busy so far this December! I can't believe there is only one more weekend before Christmas. And now that my camera has a full battery and a memory card I'm hoping to get a picture of our tree up here. I'm pretty proud of it personally. And the number of wrapped presents underneath grows every couple of days :-)

This past Saturday Craig and I went up to UD to see some college friends. A group of guys was able to talk a senior they know into letting us use their house to have an ugly christmas sweater party.  It was pretty awesome - great seeing old friends and being on campus.  We made it to Timothy's around 1/1:30 and folks you won't believe it - the dance floor was empty!!! It looks like Milanos is really starting to compete with their DJ. No complaints from us - we started the dance party and packed the dance floor :-) Oh, and there was no cover. Sweet!!

This upcoming week will include company Christmas parties, finally emptying our garage of stuff from the move, and enjoying the snow. Hope everyone is enjoying their holiday season!

Greetings!

So, I've been meaning to start a blog documenting mine and the hubby's adventures as newlyweds.  However, as might be expected, it's been continually pushed to the back burner, what with two moves, a wedding, thank you notes, decorating, and new job starting...

But, I have time this weekend so here I go!

Craig and I have recently moved to a neighborhood/town in Cincinnati that reminds me a lot of East Longmeadow - nice big houses (ours is on the small side for the neighborhood), good schools, good community, etc.  We are very excited to not move again in a year - considering that we've moved 6 times in the past 6 years what with college and whatnot. We plan on being here for awhile - so everyone back home who is planning an exciting Ohio vacation - come on out! We have two spare bedrooms (and a 27 bottle wine fridge) :-)

Life as newlyweds has been great - but busy. I'm still so excited to see Craig everyday (which hasn't been possibly the past two years) that I hate giving up time with him haha. He is not nearly as clingy so it's funny to hear our interactions: "But I want to hang out with you!" "Honey, we hang out every night. Can't I play Halo with the guys for a few hours?" "I guess..." :-)

We recently painted the master bedroom, it's now a light gray with blue undertones and a crisp white trim.  And to make our bedroom complete, we recently received our wedding present from my in-laws: a complete bedroom suite handcrafted by my father-in-law! It's so exciting to have nice furniture.... a bed, two dressers, and two nightstands all handcrafted out of oak. I've never appreciated real wood furniture so much... haha. It's so nice to have the mattress and boxsprings on something other than the floor :-)

Well, time for me to finish my movie. Craig is in Canada this weekend for his company's Christmas party.  I, unfortunately, was not able to join because I will be working almost 12 hour days tomorrow and Sunday. Yuck. I am not a huge fan of being a grown up....
